SMALL AGENCY WINS TOURISM AWARD FOR PASSPORT TO N.J. WINE COUNTRY
The Small Agency, a public relations and marketing communication firm in Montvale, N.J., has received the 2010 New Jersey Governor’s Tourism Award for its Passport to New Jersey Wine Country, an agri-tourism program developed for the Garden State Wine Growers Association, an organization of 34 wineries in the state.
The award came for the agency’s 2009 support of the Association’s five wine festivals, four statewide wine trails and the individual marketing and public relations efforts of the member wineries.
According to the N.J. State Department of Tourism, the program by the Small Agency exemplified “ the best of the state’s tourism industry.” The award was presented during the 2010 Governor’s Conference on Tourism at the Trump Marine in Atlantic City.
The Passport provides information on each of the wine association’s members and an incentive program for individuals who visit the wineries. The marketing communications program for the winery association also includes a comprehensive creative program for print, internet and radio advertising and print, broadcast and internet public relations support for every one of the winery members.
The agency is owned by Richard and Mari Small, a husband and wife marketing communications team. Mari Small designed and executed the advertising program including print ads, Association website banners, ads and eblasts and a social media component for Facebook and Twitter. Rich Small created the public relations program that publicizes the festival and wine trail activities of the organization as well as individual promotional activities and winemaking successes of each of the 34 members.
